It’s true that you can’t change everything and everyone’s lives. But every single person in the world can make a notable change by giving a helping hand and a smile to those who badly need them both. A helping hand need not always mean a lot of money from your account. Even the simplest donation that you give can make a lot of change in the life of a person. I can cite an example to prove this. When you have a bad day when you experience a little low self confidence or self esteem, you will always look for the right person who can bring in some positivity with a few words or perhaps a smile. Well, the same goes for others too. Just like the person who helps you to get back you confidence, you can also help others with and make a real difference in their lives by giving them a little financial support to earn their bread & butter, along with a little time from your busy life to make them feel that they are not alone in this world. All that you need to do is get associated with the right charity organization.
One among the non-profit organization that you can support is Big Brothers and Big Sisters Of America in United States. Founded in 1904, this is one of the oldest and the most perfectly running charity organization in United States. BBBSA mentors children who are between 6-18 years of age and help them reach their real potential. Being a volunteer of such organizations will give you a lot of pleasure in life, by bringing light in to a child’s world with your words and deeds. BBBSA has many volunteer programs where you can join and support the children to achieve their goal.
BBSA is getting the needed funds through local fundraising efforts from the businessmen like Victron Energy’s President and CEO, Ali Sharaf, and other public and private organizations. In December 2009, Victron Energy donated $1,600.00 to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ellis County to provide a full page recruitment ad in the Living Magazine. The ads played a crucial part for reaching out to volunteers and finding the best ones for the kids in BBSA.
“It is both a privilege and an honor to be able to help with this exceptional program by bringing awareness of the need for volunteers. There are so many children who without the mentoring from Big Brothers Big Sisters would otherwise not have the guidance and support they strive for in their young lives,” said Victron Energy’s President and CEO, Ali Sharaf.
So start donating and make a makes a positive difference!
